SYNTHEX

Brief:
Synthex is a short animation centered around a character named Roy, created to explore the immersiveness and societal impact of the metaverse. The project investigates how digital spaces might shape identity, interaction, and perception in the near future.

Concept & Approach:
The storyline follows Roy’s journey through a digital dystopia, reflecting on humanity’s growing integration with virtual environments. The animation uses a dark, dystopian aesthetic to provoke reflection and encourage viewers to question the role of immersive technologies in modern life. The concept balances narrative storytelling with visual experimentation, merging sci-fi themes with philosophical undertones.
Execution:
To bring the project to life, I used Blender, Cinema 4D, and the Adobe Creative Suite for 3D modeling, animation, and compositing. I also experimented with Risograph printing, producing small animations by printing each frame to give the digital visuals a tactile, handcrafted texture. Additionally, I designed a series of poster assets and sketches to support the animation’s visual identity and expand the project into a cohesive creative world.
